IN THE LOWCOUNTRY - BLUFFTON ARTS & SEAFOOD FESTIVAL

Last weekend our family got together in Bluffton, SC to check out the twelfth annual ARTS & SEAFOOD FESTIVAL.  This was the third year some grouping of our family has attended the festival and it didn't disappoint.  Seafood, music, and the beauty of the lowcountry is hard to beat on a Saturday afternoon.

Between taking a look at all of the artisan booths, listening to live music on all of the different stages throughout the festival, and grabbing food at one of many food trucks and stands set up, there really is something for everyone at the festival.

Another big reason to head over to the Arts and Seafood Festival in Bluffton always stands out in his signature lobster costume.  This is Tony of JOE LOVES LOBSTER ROLLS.  Joe Loves has real deal New England lobster rolls - and tons of other delicious options for those who love lobster and those who don't - being served up here in the southeast.  They've got a restaurant right off Okatie Highway in Ridgeland, two trucks rolling around to festivals in the area, and a new location in Florida.  This December Tony and the Joe Loves crew will be opening their third brick and mortar location in my hometown of Beaufort, SC. So dust off your lobster costumes and let's go grab dinner.

You know you can trust me when I tell you these lobster rolls are the best.  We couldn't get a single photo of a full roll, everyone was too eager to dig in!
The festival may be over until next fall, but taking a trip down Calhoun Street is worth it any other time of the year to see the shops, art studios, and gorgeous historical architecture.

The Church of the Cross sits at the end of Calhoun Street.  The Gothic building was built in 1854 and still stands to this day.  It has seen some serious damage from hurricanes throughout the years but has been continuously repaired and sits comfortably on the river.

How could anyone have anything but a great time with these crazy kids?  I am always glad to be able to spend time together and it's great that there is usually something fun going on for us to all enjoy.  Up on the blog later this week I will show you what Mom, Larry, Wes and I got into this Saturday back in Savannah. Let's just say this upcoming weekend was much more fast paced than the last.  Vroom vroom!
